"KoDoMo-HiRoBa"

Children brought to Japan by their parents often cannot attend schools and are completely isolated in their communities during the extended stay in Japan due to legal problems of their parents. Under ordinary circumstances, children should be provided with chances for education and environment of sound growth. But only because they are foreigners or born in foreign countries, they are hardly be given these proper opportunities and suffer problems of alienation. We would like to improve such present situation as much as possible.

Activity Details

This has already been tired around Arakawa Ward as a part of community activities. According to the request of volunteer centers, we accepted children (junior and senior high school students) and these junior volunteers studied Hangul and Japanese with foreign students. The aim of this project is to review one's own culture so that they should introduce their own cultures. We planned this project, because we wanted young people to know that cordial understanding and exchange begin with knowing own self. Otherwise, we cannot understand other people. Young people will open the way for the future. In fact, some of those who participated in this project continue to commit themselves with the activities held in the volunteer center.
