What is GCI?
Chikyu Shimin Koryukai (GCI) was established in January, 1997 by volunteers who were registered as Language Volunteers by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government for the purpose of encouraging and supporting international exchange and cooperation. The first organized genuine civic group in Japan composed of interpreter volunteers supports people from various countries in various aspects.

This group has never been financially supported by any organization. Therefore operating costs are covered by membership fees. Membership fees are used to support foreign people who need our help.
